Children And Family sessions

Child and Family Sessions are an amazing way to document a milestone for your kiddo or get those updated family photos (finally!). They are relaxed, fun, and intended to show the connection between each member of your family.
Sessions can be done in-home or at a location we decide upon together. For children under the age of one, I strongly suggest an in-home Session as most children this age tend to be happier where they are most familiar.
For on-location Sessions, there are two options to get the best light: 8:00 AM or sunset (depending on the time of year)

Typically we have about 1½ hours of “good light,” so being on time is super important!

Dates (especially weekends) can fill up months in advance – especially during the spring and fall when the weather is fair and nature is at its best – so contact me early if you’d like to secure one of those popular days.

Booking:
To book, simply contact me either via facebook, phone, or my website!

Before:

Please take a few moments to read through my FAQs and look through my Child and Family portfolio to really get familiar with my style and process, and don’t be shy about contacting me via phone or email should you have further questions.? I encourage bringing special items that we can incorporate, things  such as quilts, hats/scarves we can take in and out, a stuffed animal or special blanket for a child, etc

Clothing:
For clothing, patterns, textures and layers photograph beautifully. Accessories (scarves, hats, etc) are great for adding interest and good for helping avoid the matchy matchy look. Mustard yellow and cranberry are popular colors this year and usually 3 colors or more are great. Neutrals are always timeless and again, textures, varied tones, and accessories are great to keep the neutral palette from looking flat. I personally love when the girls and even moms wear skirts and dresses (the longer the better!)long flowing dresses make my heart Happy and provide opportunity for flow and movement and also a touch of romance!  but you should wear what you'll feel comfortable in. Little girls in their best dresses are a special capture and boys with suspenders or a fancy touch are so cute, too.
Other things to bring might include a drink and snack or treat if you think they'll be hungry, and if you think it might help them cooperate a little longer (I'm not above bribery:)

During:

Relax and have fun!
We will use the first 5-10 minutes to get to know each other and adjust to the situation. Littles  like to move quickly and we don’t usually stay in one place or “pose” for too long.
I will definitely grab a few “everyone looking at the camera” photos, but for the majority of the Session, plan on interacting with your family through playing, hugging, kissing and tickling. It is those genuine interactions and the wide array of natural smiles on your faces that I enjoy documenting for you.

If your little one starts to get grumpy, no worries!  We can take a quick break for a snack, or to just let them hang out for a few to do their own thing.

After:
Once the session is over, you will receive a sneak peek of what we accomplished!
At your consent, these are shared on my Facebook business page, so make sure to like it to receive updates.

About 3 weeks after our Session, you will get a pretty little link and password to your online gallery so you can view your images. and download, From the gallery you can place a print order directly through Mpix and also share it with family and friends to show off your amazing little family!
